Welcome to my post! Today I'll be sharing my personal take and experience on wheatgrass. Enjoy and feel free to drop a comment below! :)
Wheatgrass is a nutrient-rich kind of grass. Gaining popularity in the West over the years, I decided to try this superfood. After only a month of drinking wheatgrass, I have noticed a lot of positive changes physically and mentally. Changes include increased metal clarity, increase in energy, regular bowel movements, glowing skin and less urge to overeat.
There are many forms of ingesting wheatgrass: juicing, powder or capsule form.
Currently, I take wheatgrass in powder form. I use Pines by the wheat grass people which is raw, gluten free, non-gmo and USDA approved organic. There are so many brands out there that sell wheatgrass; as with all herbs and food I'd recommend you buy organic.
How I take it
I prefer drinking mine with just plain water twice a day (first thing in the morning and before dinner). I take a table spoon of the powder and mix it with about 8 fluid ounces of water. It has a very grassy smell and taste so if you don't like the grassy smell just add the powder to smoothies and juices. Some people even sprinkle the powder on their food.
Note: If you breastfeed when taking wheatgrass, you will notice your milk looking a little bit green-ish (at least that's what I noticed when pumping).
Some so called experts such as Mayo Clinic urgue that pregnant and nursing women shouldn't take wheatgrass with the Argument that "wheatgrass grows in soil and water and consumed raw, which means it could be contaminated with bacteria or mold. If you're pregnant or breast-feeding, don't use wheatgrass" You make your own judgement with that statement (I dont know any plant that does grow in water and soil)

Although I think Mayo clinic's Argument is bogus, I think one should definitely take wheatgrass in moderation (as with all things in life), learn what works for you as some people have reported issues with nausea, wheat allergies and gluten allergies . Also, wheatgrass isn't a miracle treatment so please do consult a doctor/healthcare provider.
Weighing the pros and cons...the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Take a look at the extensive list below of the benefits of consuming wheatgrass.
