Vinegar has been used in culinary and household purposes for centuries! It is also claimed to combat all sorts of health issues such as obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes. In this post, I will be referring to the kind that can be ingested (Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with “The Mother”- Raw and Unfiltered). There are a lot of ACV’s in the market but I’d suggest for wholesome living you stick to Raw Unfiltered and Organic that has “The Mother”. You can use it on your food, skin as a toner, surfaces for cleaning and as an antimicrobial etc.
Personally, I have used ACV for weightloss mostly and as a toner every now and then. It has been scientifically proven that ACV aids in weightloss, however, one should not expect miracles by just taking ACV. Proper diet and physical activity need to be incorporated for maximum weightloss and other health benefits desired.
As you might know, I am currently on a weightloss journey (postnatal) and I have just started using ACV again on a daily basis (3 times a day before or after meals). So far, I am two weeks in and I have noticed changes in the glow of my skin, I’m looked a lot slimmer (especially on my waist area) and my hair is getting fuller.
How I take my ACV: I pour two tablespoons in a small “shot” glass with a little water first thing in the AM before eating, then another at lunch and dinner- throughout the day I’ll be sipping on lemon water. I drink about 100 OZ. or 4 liters of water a day (Read my blog post on hydration here)
I will be updating my weightloss sometime end of December/January. In the meantime, take a look at the benefits of ACV. Remember, don’t expect miracles, this is a TOTAL lifestyle change (Eat Clean, be Mindful and Exercise)
