Hi guys! welcome back to the blog! Today I’m going to share with you some science-based tips for losing weight. By Science based, this means they have been tried and have proven to work. So enjoy!
Tip #1: Drink MORE water
Drinking water is a no brainer! Drinking water not only hydrates you therefore keeping you a live, it also increases your metabolism and decreases hunger which means you’ll burn more calories and reduce your caloric intake.
Tip #2: Eat Protein For Breakfast
Protein is known for jump-starting fat loss there for especially starting your day with a protein rich breakfast will help you shed some pounds.
Tip #3: Keep only Healthy Food In Your House
If you are someone whose self-control isn’t that great when it comes to food, keeping only healthy foods such as fruits, nuts and vegetables in your house will make losing weight a lot easier.
Tip #4 Eat Before Going Grocery Shopping
Various studies have shown that shopping on an empty stomach generally results to making bad food choices and leads to overspending. From personal experiences, I can attest to this. I have found shopping on a full belly and/or after a workout always helps me make better choices when grocery shopping.
Tips #5: Reduce your Carb intake (esp. White bread, pasta and rice )
From our high school science classes, we’ve learned that carbs turn into sugar and stored as fat later on. Reducing our intake of carbs is very very crucial to weight loss.
In a later, blog post, I’ll go in-depth on the keto diet which is basically a high fat- low carb diet.
Tip #6: Use smaller plates
Using smaller plates has been found to trigger your mind to think you ate a lot when you really didn’t.
Tip #7: Use smaller spoons
Using smaller spoons/fork to eat equals to more rounds to finish your food which equals more chewing which equals eating and eventually weightloss.
Tip #8: Take your time to chew
Yes! Take your time to chew! I’ve literally met people who don’t chew their food they just swallow and before you know it they are going for seconds and thirds. If you are really serious about weightloss, take your time to fully chew. Count at least 10 chews before you swallow your food.
Tip #9 Don’t Drink your calories
Avoid drinking sodas even diet ones, juices (unless freshly squeezed and from 100% fruit), creamers, artificial sweeteners , alcohol, beer and white sugar.
Tip #10: MORE Sleep
Sleep has to be the easiest way to lose weight. Just get an eight hour plus deep sleep every night and you are on your way to being the fit fabulous you you’ve always dremt about (pun intended)
Tip #11: Turn off the Tube
Watching TV while eating can cause mindless eating and snacking. Try as hard a syou can to turn off the TV when you eat.
