Welcome to the blog! Today is January 15th! If you don't know what that means then read on!
So what's significant about January 15th? It's just another day they say. Well, other than the fact that you are alive, this date is very important for those of us with New Year’s resolutions. Study finds that by January 15th, 95% of people have already fallen off their new year’s resolutions. Yep! It took only two weeks.
What have researchers found? Researches have gathered data over the years and they have found out people go through the first two weeks quite smoothly and start backsliding gradually; by December, they are back where they started often even further behind. So why is this? Psychology professor Timothy Pychyl says resolutions are a form of “cultural procrastination”- which he describes as an effort to reinvent oneself as a way to motivate . People usually do this when they aren’t quite ready to change their bad habits which accounts for the very high failure rate. I absolutely agree with this statement and would add that people are not only ready to change their bad habits, but also make resolutions without proper forethought- as far as discipline and patience.
With that, I’d love for you to stick to your resolutions and make your goals a reality. Below are some tips you can use. Feel free to comment, share and subscribe to the blog for new and exciting posts!
