Have you always desired to do something but you are shit scared? continue reading on how I am progressively overcoming shyness.
A few weeks ago, I made a very tasty red quinoa avocado kale salad and thought I'd share this very simple recipe. I also went a step further and actually made a YouTube video to go along with it.
So, for a very longtime now ( a little over two years) I have wanted to start a YouTube channel as a way for me to express myself and share my passion/stories with people. However, I have always been the shiest in my family and among my peers and avoided any activities that required public speaking and/or too much attention on me.
August 2016. when I was getting ready to cook, it dawned on me to make a video then and there. I took my iPhone and with some help from hubby we began to record. If you are shy person like myself, you understand what a bold move this is. Honesty, I am very proud of myself even though I am not fully in the video (only my hands are).
Regardless, this is just the "ice breaker" and I look forward to many more videos(Lookbook's and recipes for now)on YouTube. Like and Subscribe to my YouTube channel here
Struggles so far:
With no experience editing videos, I have literally had to start from scratch. I am a very thorough person as to what I want and how I want it so I tested a few options out there. I went for free options such as Kizoa (I didn't like it..has watermarks), I also tried DaVinci Resolve 12 (too technical for a beginer) and finally landed to iMovie which surprisingly is so great(It's also FREE for mac users and has no watermark).
It has taken me two weeks to make this video. It's not perfect but after hours of watching tutorials, it works for now(one step at a time like my dad would say). The struggle has been real but I am getting a hang of it and will continue to make better quality videos.
Other than editing, I am also learning a lot about YouTube creator space, tags etc.
Pros so far:
The pros I have experienced by far is self fulfillment(finally doing something I have desired to do). I am very excited for this new venture and really look forward to sharing part of myself with others :)
Any thoughts or advice for me? just throw a comment or two...even three below.
