Hi everyone! Welcome to the blog! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend and are ready to conquer this week with lots of productivity.
So on today’s blog post, I will be sharing with you some very helpful and important tips and tricks you can use to save money on Amazon. If you read my blog and follow me on Instagram, you may know that I am self-proclaimed living breathing money saving machine. I never miss an opportunity to save money whenever I can. From coupons, deals, sales, cash back rebate sites such as Ebates (Read more here) etc. I use it all.
When it comes to Amazon, I actually shop there quite a bit (oke…A LOT) and these tips and tricks have saved me quite a bit. Sometimes over 40% on a single purchase!!
Anyway, I hope you use these tips and tricks, save money, subscribe to the blog, Follow me on Instagram and Twitter, share and as per usual ;keep an eye out for new and exciting blog posts EVERY 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th of the MONTH.
Before going to Amazon.com, go toEbates either on your desktop or phone app. Search Amazon and click on the Amazon shop now button on Ebates. Ebates will show you percentage of cash back you’ll get (they vary from time to time) on that purchase.
On the Amazon.com homepage, there is a Today's deal section aka. deal of the day.
Under the today’s deal section. There is a subsection tab named “Outlet” Here, Amazon offers daily limited quantity flash deals. Items on this section are limited in quantity so it’s a first come first serve basis every single day.
Amazon Open box and deals
Also under the today’s deal tab is the open box and deals subsection aka. Amazon warehouse. Here, you can get deals on refurbished, open box and pre owned items. These items are in usable conditions and at deep discounts. Some of the items include electronics and other household items. Another great thing to note is that the Amazon return policy and customer service still applies to the products sold under this section. This makes it less risky than let’s say eBay or craigslist.
Another subsection on today’s deals, Woot offers deals on open box and preowned items! Woot!offers one of the biggest deals upto 50% off. With woot, you have to click on the item to revel how much it actually is and the discount given.
Amazon Price match
Many of the large retailers such as Target, Walmart, BestBuy, Staples, Office Depot, Office Max, Babies R Us, Toys R US, Home depot, Lowes, Bed, Bath & Beyond etc. will price match other retailers. For example: BestBuy will price match you with Amazon. If a product you want on Amazon.com is cheaper than BestBuy. Show BestBuy the exact product on Amazon and they will sell it to you at the cheaper Amazon price. This comes in really handy esp. when making big purchases e.g. electronics.
This is only available to Prime members. You can set up an account for your child (FREE)and save 20% off on diapers and other exclusive family deals.
Students get 6 month free trial on Amazon prime as well as 50% prime membership fees and Prime shipping.
Shared Prime account
Amazon allows you to share your Amazon prime account with one person. Two accounts for the price of one. You can split cost 50%-50% and share benefits that come with being an Amazon Prime Member.
Amazon offers this program to turn-in used items such as Phones, Video games, electronics stc. The downside to this is that you get your money as an Amazon gift card but the plus is that you get more money for your used item than you would elsewhere. This is especially nice if shop on Amazon quite a bit.
Amazon Credit Card
Oke. I am not a big supporter of credit cards. In fact, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to take on credit cards just for the sake. If you are looking to get into credit cards however, Amazon offers 5% cash back credit card and will give you a $40 Amazon gift card upon signing up.
When shopping on Amazon or any other online retailers, I highly recommend you install browser extensions. I’ll talk more about browser extensions in details in a later blog post but as far as this particular blog post, I recommend you install CamelCamelCamel. CamelCamelCamel is a FREE Amazon specific browser extension that price tracks products for you and alerts you when prices drop. This is very helpful especially when eyeing a large label item.
I hope these tips and tricks were helpful! Share, Subscribe to the blog, Follow me on Instagram and Twitter and keep an eye out for new blog posts EVERY 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th of the MONTH
